KNITTING: this is a very feminine and unusual design for a bed jacket (early 60s or maybe late 50).
It has a standard shape of a yoke with 3 buttons and long gathered sleeves; however the lace stitches used are unusual and very effective together.
The yoke and part of the cuffs are knitted in an open dropped and crossed stitch mesh...the body and sleeves have an eyelet lace forming elongated diamonds and a twisted square-reminiscent of cables . A very unique effect! All the borders are in garter stitch stitch.
