CROCHET: This is a lovey crocheted suit in classically retro 60s style. Wearable every day but dressy enough for any “occasion” the cardigan jacket is worn over a pencil skirt –both in close shell stitch.
The jacket has three quarters, or elbow length, sleeves and a “Peter Pan” collar on a flattering and quite low, round neckline. Grouped self covered crocheted buttons complete the look.
This type of line became very popular after Mademoiselle Chanel created her iconic look-home dress makers/crocheters and knitters knew a good garment idea when they saw one! I have many patterns for these crocheted and knitted cardigan suits!
[This beautiful collar could be made on its own and worn over many outfits –quiet a popular thing again now).
