KNITTING: this is an unusual design from the 60s for a feminine bed jacket. It is a basic “round yoke with lace body” style, with three quarter length sleeves ending in a ribbed cuff. The front edges and hemline are knitted in garter stitch (all plain rows).
It is knitted up from the hem, in an unusual travelling vine effect lace, with eyelets. The round yoke is also unusual; made in alternating circular bands of single rib and stocking stitch with a ribbed channel formed for a ribbon which is tied to a bow at the neck.
The yoke is buttoned-the rest falling open. There is lots of knitting interest in this pretty and cosy design-but it is not difficult to knit.
