CROCHET: A fun little suit with an edge to edge jacket and box pleated skirt crocheted in easy “granny stitch” stripes of DK (UK) weight. The epitome of 1960s style, worn with a pussycat bow blouse! However this look is now very current, and easy to make, whether just as useful individual pieces (especially as a cardigan) or worn together as shown.
The jacket has the classic “braid effect” trim (instructions given) and is hip length; but it would be more current cropped to a boxy “just below waistline” length.
The box pleats made in this crochet stitch might also be a vintage detail too far! As today’s figures are slightly different anyhow-a straight, short version without pleats would look much better.
