KNITTING: An unusual little hippo character from a vintage Stitchcraft magazine (Oct ‘63). “Friendly hippo will appeal to a toddler” it says! The red “tie”-or scarf- seems a bit odd on a hippo but maybe even hippos like to dress up sometimes. Zoos and circuses were popular the 60s and bits of clothing do seem to be a feature of many of the toy animal patterns from then--so it was quite a standard look in those days! LOL.

There are several small pieces to assemble but nothing very difficult; it is knitted in simple garter stitch (ie all knit rows).
