CROCHET: A glamourous crochet shawl in mohair from a 1970s French Mon Tricot pattern. The cape- shawl [as they called it] is an extreme crescent shape, so it can be overlapped in wear, giving the poncho effect in the image. (Thus avoiding that annoying thing about ponchos- you have to pull them over your head).
This exuberant fluffy creation is very easy to make and quite quick, using a big hook. It is crocheted in mohair; probably one of the few garments that are easily wearable in this luxurious but very “hairy” yarn.
A perfect project for anyone with stashed balls of mohair left over from its heyday in the eighties as the ultimate fashion fibre, LOL.
