KNITTED: This pattern has a cardigan style bed jacket and an unusual shawl or bed cape to knit. They are knitted in a simple but pretty eyelet lace stitch. Both garments can easily be adapted for daywear with your choice of yarn but were originally knitted in a thick cotton based boucle (so will knit up quickly).
The bedjacket has raglan sleeves and an open front, buttoned with just 2 buttons at the waist and a ribbon tie at the neck; more buttons could easily be added when knitting the garter stitch border. The capelet or “shoulder” shawl neckline is formed into a small roll collar and is fastened with a ribbon bow at the base of this, just above at the bust.

I use high resolution scans-and where I think it is needed they are reformatted [beyond just “cleaning up”]; I have used my experience of teaching knitting and crochet, so they are easier and clearer to work from. For example instructions are often amended so that all relevant bits are together on one page.
