CROCHET: A traditional circular crochet shawl usually worn folded in half into a semicircle as in the monochrome photo. That shows of the pretty lace detail around the edges very prettily. However, perhaps due to the fleeting fascination with European styles in the 60s, it is modelled in one shot Spanish style; worn draped, somewhat comically, over the head! At least you can see the patterned edge quite well there!
This shawl is a good one for a baby too for a vintage look, lightweight for the size and warm. It is an easy design, published in a “learn to crochet” booklet after appearing originally in a vintage Stitchcraft magazine.
