CROCHET: A sixties pattern for a very pretty dress in a large “mother and daughter” range of sizes. This would be a lovely solution to the “bridesmaids of different ages” problem... or just a sweet summer dress for any age.
The bodice is in easy plain crochet, with a drawstring waistline and a skirt is worked downwards from the bodice, seamlessly around giving a neat finish to the dress. The skirt and sleeves are worked in a lace pattern in bands; the lace is unusual-and also nice and easy to crochet in an easy 4 row repeat.
It would be equally nice to wear at an event such as a wedding, confirmation or Baptism; a festival or simply on a summer day out.
The girl’s version is more of an empire line with a shorter bodice proportion. The adult dress could also be made like this too as it is straight [no shaping] to the armhole-and it would then make a great blouse top or tunic.
Lots of pattern design scope here.
