CROCHET: A chunky coat in a striped pattern of lace and plain stitches with a high round neckline and wide borders and cuffs which could easily be made as a jacket length cardigan instead. It can be made in one colour with just texture (an Aran effect in cream would look stunning) or in multicolour stripes as a great stashbuster.
Originally 2 strands of DK (USA worsted) were used but here are lots of bulky or chunky yarns now that could be substituted instead, and synthetics are much lighter than the original wool yarn used-although wool can feel more luxurious!
