CROCHET: A really wearable peasant style blouse (or tunic top) in an open mesh stitch. (You may prefer to wear a camisole or similar under it).
It has lovely full sleeves gathered at the wrist with a matching cord (“bishop” sleeve shape), a tied “keyhole” neckline and an adjustable waist gathered with a matching cord.
I personally dislike random dyed yarn for crochet (innovative and popular as it was at the time). The camouflage effect disrupts the carefully crocheted stitches... especially in these fetching vampire shades of maroon and flesh pink! However, it is an authentic 70s look if you are a fan of it and are looking for a project!
This mesh crochet look, done in black, was all over the catwalks recently - so why not whip one up for yourself; it is a quick and easy make.
If you like this you may like these crochet mesh tops 091, 179, the top 240, or this pretty knit dress 161, (and the long knit wedding dress 188 also had bishop sleeves).
