KNITTING and CROCHET Two lovely baby shawls, one to knit, one to crochet, both about 1metre (40inches) across and both very easy. These are nice straight forward projects if you know a baby is arriving soon!
The knitted (lilac) shawl is worked all in knit/plain stitches (no purling).
The border is worked as one long straight strip (20 stitches and 30row pattern); so there are no mitred corners to make. It is knitted separately and sewn on afterwards, so quite portable to knit “on the go”.
The crochet shawl is made as one piece in simple treble chain mesh with a shell border- but it is still quite portable until about half done!
