CROCHET: This is a pretty skirt and shawl set (or they can be made separately of course) in stash- busting rainbow pastels. They are bang on trend now –but originally from “Womancraft”, a quirky magazine publication, in October 1975!
The skirt is made in a stripe sequence in a gentle zigzag-or ripple- chevron stitch. Any colours can be used-or even just one, as there is textural interest with some rows made with eyelets.
The shawl is also made in coloured stripes and is crocheted in Solomon’s knot stitch. It has a contrast shell lace border; but it can be made in one colour or with stripes and contrast as you like. It makes another good stash buster for oddments. (I will include a note on the Solomon’s knot stitch).
