CROCHET: A swinging, zinging, lime fizz of an “A Line” dress, with a matching hat.
It is such a short mini (given as a scant 31.5 inches from back neck to luscious, scalloped hemline) it would also look great as a festival dress or as a tunic top worn with a low slung belt over jeans or leggings. However it is worked top down (shoulder to hem) so it it’s easy to alter the length before working the pineapple lace stitch hem portion.
The main body is made in plain simple crochet and the wonderful “pineapple” design at the flared hemline is explained row by row so it is not daunting-even for a relative beginner.
There is just one set of instructions; size is altered by changing hook size with the DK (worsted)yarn, so again there is scope for alteration.
The original dress is worked in vintage “Bri Nylon”; which is now neither fashionable nor (frankly) desirable; you might prefer something a little more organic![ I’ve used this nylon for amigurumi but although if feels soft in a ball, it is a little stiff, weird and synthetic when worked up.]
