CROCHET: A late 60s bikini or “Beach set” of a bikini and a coverup top, in a retro design with the more modest amount of coverage usual at the time. The bikini top is crocheted flat and darts are stitched into it to give shape; an construction unusual which is quite a good approach for fitting for a full bust. It is crocheted in a very textured stitch and is trimmed with purchased braid; again, a style very evocative of the period. The top is made with two buttonholes on the back ends of the neck strap, and hidden buttons on a band across the back.
The jacket ties with the braid or ribbon trim around the bust line.
