CROCHET: A pattern with two, quite different, bikinis in great retro sixties style, and both are very easy to crochet.(The Twilleys “couture crochet” designs were unusually clear for the time.)
Choose between a plunge “v” neckline top (in gold) and a bandeaux/balcony version (in black); but both have quite modest panties (as they originate from the 1960s).
The gold bikini is trimmed with crochet covered rings (how to make this trim is explained in the text).
The black bikini has a ladder effect on the straps which is repeated on the side of the panties (not visible in the pattern image).
These are both very glamorous; they were originally crocheted in “Goldfingering” stretchy “metallic” thread which is still available (if you want to recreate this 1960s, bond girl, Riviera look)! However a 3 to 4ply cotton/synthetic blend would give the best texture –if you want to swim in them.
