KNITTING: A pattern for a simple doll body without legs. They have great vintage “mod look” with their huge almond eyes, exuberant curly hair (originally made in loop stitch in a chunky yarn) and bright ‘knitted on’ stripy dresses. Either Prudence or Penelope - two dashing 60s names for you there- makes a good stash buster-and this basic pattern lends itself to many different interpretations They are lovely cuddle dolls, and could easily be used as cushions, or even skittles, too.
The dolls stand about 13 inches (28cm) made in double knitting (light worsted) wool. Easily knitted “flat” on straight needles.
