KNITTING: A cute toy dachshund “quickly knitted” in double knitting wool. (This weight was a fairly new concept in the’40s knitting world; thicker than the usual fine weights and much promoted as “quick”! )
However he is indeed a fairly simple project and he has a very sweet and appealing “dachshund” look to him.
(He is not to be confused with the 994 pattern for Desmond dog who is a much larger chap-although they are friends and occasionally hang out together! )
Desmond dogs and Peter, or Percy, penguins seem to be 1940s/50s clans of toys LOL. You can call yours whatever you like-names are much more imaginative nowadays!
