These tea cosies and egg cosy are a great vintage 60s find- two fab crochet patterns, with one traditional knitted version. These pretty breakfast sets are great for insulating and they look charmingly vintage and retro… fab for gifts.
KNITTING: The knitted one in turquoise and white is the traditional fluted one-with a variation on the stripes and pompom trim.
CROCHET: The pretty pink flower tea cosy set is worked, unusually, from the top down. This gives easier control on your finished size. The dainty or lea, or calyx, trim is felt (instruction and template included) but could easily be crocheted instead.
The blue one is very thick, crocheted in a simple shell cluster group stitch, worked upwards to the ring trimmed top.
All pop over the teapot and are made in two separate side pieces, sewn up leaving openings for handle and spout. (So it is easy to get the best fit for your teapot.)
