A very old and pattern for two tea cosies. and an unusual “pop over” crocheted one.
KNITTING: The knitted tea cosy is a traditional fluted with a matching “nest” to insulate the base of the teapot too; if you have never tried one you won’t believe how effective they are! (It is also quite a vintage the party talking point!)This is an unusual style for a china doll topper-they generally have much “fancier” crinoline skirts! These little doll bodies can be found-but if you can’t find a china lady-maybe improvise one with an unwanted doll. However the teacosy looks fine with just a pompom or a few crocheted loops to trim it! It is made in two sides, with openings for the handle and spout.
CROCHET: The crochet one is really easy and effective and the matching egg cosy makes it into a lovely breakfast set. It just pops over the whole pot-without openings for the handle and spout; the matching egg cosy is a nice matching item for a breakfast set.
