KNITTING: A very vintage pattern for four tea cosies in novelty designs. Nothing changes much, as this concept is popular on Pinterest right now too!
The pattern gives 3 cosy (cozy) shapes; ribbed, moss (seed) stitch and lace layers.
The orange is a very pleasing, perfect classic shape, in moss stitch (seed stitch)with a little leaf detail.; it would easily stand in as a Halloween pumpkin without any trouble LOL!
The standard wide ribbed “body” is used for 2 of the cosies; with a bunny or snowman head variation (great for Christmas or Easter seasonal celebrations).
The third cosy is a more elaborate one and this one has a woolly doll made of wound wool, as a different take on the classic kitsch tea cosy using a china doll body. Her bonnet and dress are knitted on to form the cosy and then the dress is trimmed with several long strips of knitted lace to create lots of insulation layers. The doll tea cosy would also look pretty without the doll on top, as the frills create a petty effect on their own.]
A really fab set of varied designs for tea cosy fans!
