KNITTING: 3 gorgeous textured tea cosies from Bestway ( probably 1950’s ) The pattern says ”thick wool” and “chunky crepe”- actual tension is given as 16 by 24 to 10cm (4inches), so try either modern Aran or chunky as a substitute.
All 3 have openings for handle and spout and are heavily textured. One has a rib / waffle pattern and a pompom trim. The second is similarly textured but designed as a crinoline figure with a doll body. I would say this was because of traditional cosy ideas-but would look better with a pompom instead of the doll as the “skirt” part is not exactly dainty!
The third is a wonderfully quirky, almost architectural, pyramid shape with four ridged seams rising to a pointy apex loop, and covered in bobbles!
Pleasing little projects and a great way to practice knitting textured rib and bobble patterns!
